FAQ: How is MyHub.ai free and without ads? What is your business model?

MyHub is an ad-free, manipulation-free zone. Your privacy is 100% safe. How?

By now you’re probably aware that you are the product on every other platform out there, because they make their money by:
a) collecting data on you
b) selling it to marketers,
c) who use it to manipulate you.

They also get hacked regularly: not safe, not good for you, and not good for society (more: check out everything I've Hubbed about disinformation if you've been living under a rock for the past ten years).

On MyHub.ai, you won't be the product

MyHub.ai has a different model, so it’s an alternative way for people to collect, use and share content without themselves becoming the product being sold.

For example, take the autocategorisation feature we have planned:

(Voiceover by the lovely Jennifer Baker, @BrusselsGeek)

While autocategorisation suggests tags for your content, you can, of course, correct it. And as you do - and as your audience uses your Hub - you collectively train our AI engine.

The more Hubs and more visitors there are, the better that engine becomes, making MyHub.ai even better, attracting more users and visitors. That virtuous circle creates a world-class AI engine for classifying content. We then sell that engine - not our users - as a paid service to organisations needing it for knowledge management purposes. That’s a multi-billion euro market, and our share of it will keep advertising off MyHub.ai.

Autocategorisation is just one AI-powered service we intend building, and it might not even be the first: we're currently preparing a free trial of MyHub/ChatGPT integration, for example.

Today, however, MyHub.ai is in Alpha phase, and that trial is for "Early Adopters" only, so sign up to get yourname.myhub.ai in time.

Postscript: in the above video I mention that copying, pasting and editing excerpts from a Resource as part of the curation process is "the best way I know of embedding the knowledge". That's no longer true: it really is better to write things in your own words (if you have the time), according to devotees of Zettelkasten knowledge management and note-taking techniques. While Zettelkasten is complicated, I found a way of making it simpler on MyHub.ai - see Simplifying Zettelkasten by working out loud and everything I've Hubbed tagged #zettelkasten.
