Newspapers, he argues, are "the supermarket of news ... [but] upermarkets only work when visiting the individual brands is too hard to do... But on the internet, everything is just one click away." Not that online supermarkets can't work - he explores why it works for Amazon and social platforms, which he calls "supermarkets of interest ... you start with what people are interested in, and then you build your offerings around those interests for that specific individual."
