10 Commandments of Content

10 Commandments of Content

my notes ( ? )

"The empowered consumer will bypass or ignore communications that aren’t relevant and don’t add value ... brands that want to be invited into the conversation will have to say something that’s worthy of their audience’s time and attention... there are some guiding principles behind great brand storytelling. Call them the 10 Commandments of Content." I love the first Commandment: "Find the Why". It's always perplexed me that EU communications don't try focusing more on Why the EU does what it does, as that explains How it adds value. Not that the EU's technocratic solutions are particularly well suited to storytelling, but in the final analysis, as this excellent post sets out "Find your why and you’ve found your story." I could make similar remarks about commandments 2-10, but that'd require a proper longform post. One for DoIt. - The 10 Commandments of Content | Co.Create | creativity + culture + commerce
