social distancing ... led us to reconsider how we reach our audiences at scale ... through events... already conducted more than 15 large-scale virtual events... partner summit for over 4,000 attendees ... employee town hall with our CEO... Here’s what I’ve learned ...

people show up to events to learn, network, and discover... to enable ... on a digital platform ... virtual events require a cinematic approach... think in “episodes"... Use multiple cameras and frames to change angles... create a dynamic experience ...

Scaling is critical... may work better to split your event into small group sessions focused on niche subjects... presenters should adapt their style ... an engaging conversation with our audience directly via the camera ...

connecting via your social communities... build conversation leading up to the event ... mindset to learn and ask questions ... attendees to engage with each other and ask questions ahead of time ... sharing questions and crowdsourcing information before, during, and after ... moderators ... foster conversation and build a dynamic experience ...

different methods of engagement before, during, and after... fantastic for self-directed learning. Attendees ... complete “homework” before the event
