"now you can control how ChatGPT responds in every chat by using custom instructions" - this quick runthrough of what they are, how to enable them, and some examples only scratches the surface.
When using custom instructions you answer two questions:
- tell ChatGPT more about you
- tell ChatGPT how you want it to respond
The two answers should probably match, with common applications including changing ChatGPT's tone response format, or setting your personal preferences. For example:
- "I’m a software developer and solely use golang"
- "When I ask you for code, please just give me the code without any explanation on how it works. Bias towards the most efficient solution" (OpenAI example)
