Some good reasons to not integrate generative AI into your software (like everyone's doing), from Membrain, which " builds tools and workflows that help you build structure to support your sales strategy and create positive behavior change on your sales teams".

Their arguments:

  • "It’s Not Free or Even Cheap" and the quality improvement is not worth the added expense, "At least not yet." Exactly echoing the point I made after analysing my experiments with myhub
  • "Everyone Is Rushing In Because It’s Cool and Fun: But Is It Actually Valuable in Every Context?... [while] AI is ... in many ways, a game-changer for the technical world... does integrating it into every single platform provides enough value to justify the cost?" No, because generative AI has been proven to be particularly terrible at... strategy." AI is good for supporting tactics, like "summarize content, generate ideas... But those tools already exist in the tools you use to create content. You don’t need to pay extra to have the same tools duplicated "
  • "Our Customer Support Will Always Be Focused on the Customer", and AI chatbots provide terrible support (albeit very cheaply).
