War rages over 'Disruptive Innovation'

my notes ( ? )

Clayton Christensen reacts to Lepore's article on his theory of disruption. Nice to see academics can be as carefree with facts as politicians and think tank gurus ... "in order to discredit me, Jill had to break all of the rules of scholarship that she accused me of breaking... if she was truly a scholar as she pretends, she would have read [those]. ... a criminal act of dishonesty—at Harvard, of all places... a professor at Tuck built a mathematical model and showed mathematically that I had gotten the causal mechanism wrong. So does it discredit the theory? No, it just keeps improving... I could list all kinds of problems that we still need to resolve, because a theory is developed in a process, not an event." - Clayton Christensen Responds to New Yorker Takedown of 'Disruptive Innovation' - Businessweek
