Eye-opener of the Week: SEME

In How Google Could Rig the 2016 Election (Politico), Robert Epstein describes and quantifies: 

Search Engine Manipulation Effect (SEME) … one of the largest behavioral effects ever discovered … [could]  easily shift the voting preferences of undecided voters by 20 percent or more … with virtually no one knowing they are being manipulated

The implications for democracy are profound & the fact that people aren’t hearing about this is incredible. It’s not as if Google isn’t the topic of some debate in Brussels, or did you miss:
