The News Quality Scoring (NQS) will combine quality journalism content with new machine learning algorithms... as batch of stories enter the platform, they are scored on a 1-5 scale ... quality ... automatically and in real time....
Quantifiable Signals ... look at structure and patterns of the HTML page, advertising density, use of visual elements, bylines, word count, readability of the text, information density... Subjective Signals ... writing style, thoroughness, balance & fairness, timeliness, various journalistic qualities... used only in the building phase of the model)... usage is reserved for publishers and news distributors... it is essential to prevent any gaming of the algorithm. Several vital parts will, therefore, remain under wrap... Only the processing of large volumes of articles will require the payment of a fee... human assessment will play a critical role in the training of the algorithm...
