my notes ( ? )

A good tour from Circa, not just re: Google: "Google ... will spend $150 million this year on a "far-reaching campaign" to improve the diversity of the technology industry... the technology industry "cannot be this homogeneous" if it intends to build products for a global marketplace."... Co-founders ... tasked the company in 2013 with doing more to ensure it had the diverse workforce necessary to "get the kind of innovation [needed] to solve problems."... Apple revealed March 10 that it is donating $40 million to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and $10 million to the National Center for Women and Information Technology to help increase the number of women and minorities working in the technology industry.".. Several tech companies, including Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google, in 2014 released workforce diversity statistics that were generally skewed toward white male employees, particularly in management positions. Several recent studies have also shown that men generally earn more than women in similar positions across the technology sector." - Google commits $150 million to improve diversity in tech | Circa News
