I deleted a Plan and it deleted the Group it was in!!

... built a 'test' Group up, with files and a Notebook ... and today, a Plan. I didn't like the Plan much so I deleted it.
It deleted the Group - all the files, the Notebook, all gone.
... this is quite simply incredible behaviour. When I add a new file to a folder which I've had for weeks/months/years, and then delete that file, does Windows DELETE THE ENTIRE FOLDER AND EVERYTHING IN IT?????
