my notes ( ? )
"A big life has love. It is way more important and way more defining than any kind of career. I never knew this before. I always thought what I DID was what defined me. That some people are put on this planet to achieve and to effect change and to make things happen. And I reckoned it was a choice. That it was an “or” rather than an “and”. I assumed that if I achieved a lot, logged loads of travel miles and made a significant amount of money I would approach my old age with a sense of accomplishment rather than longing.
Being here, in the country, living closer to and even amidst nature, being more solitary, I have changed my mind.
In the end, for me, it will be about the connecting and very little to nothing about the achieving. Or the accumulating. The amassing. It will be about whether and how I blossomed in that brief shining moment in the sun, how I reached out to another and either showed up fully and authentically or did not.
A big life is lived in sync with nature.
A big life has loads of room for creating art. Regularly."
